– Encourage students to reflect on their motivations for pursuing a medical career, going beyond parental desires.

– Assess students’ ability to articulate coherent responses to specific questions.

MBBS Phase I – New Applicants:

Compose an essay responding to two questions:

  1. Why do you aspire to become a doctor? Describe the aspects of the profession that attract you, and elaborate on why you chose this path despite considering other alternatives. While parental influence might play a role, focus on your personal motivation for joining the medical field.
  2. Why should you be awarded this scholarship?

Note: You may explore advanced topics if they relate directly to your experiences and circumstances, though focusing on the first question is advised.

Applicants from MBBS Phase II & III, Repeat Applicants & AMDAANA Scholar:

Write an essay addressing one of the following questions:

  1. How does society perceive the medical profession? Is it considered noble, profit-oriented, or something else? Share your perspective and propose ways to enhance its public image, substantiating your view with examples and arguments.
  2. In the event of a mistake during patient care, how should you proceed? Discuss the nature of the error, the individuals it should be discussed with, and whether the patient/family should be informed. Outline steps to rectify and prevent such errors in the future.
  3. Reflect on your journey through medical school: Has it solidified your desire to become a doctor, or do you now question your initial choice? Justify your stance with relevant experiences and reasons.

Expectations from the essay:

– Demonstrate original thought to evaluate your thought process and writing proficiency.

– Plagiarism from internet sources, fellow students, Artificial Intelligence tools like CHAT-GPT or BARD, will result in rejection of your application.
